Max load indicates static weight, in other words the load which the bed withstands if you lie or sit on it.

Care

To prevent your child from getting their head stuck, and avoiding serious injury, the distance between the bed and the wall must always be less than 2½" or greater than 9".High beds and the upper bed of bunk or loft beds are not suitable for children under 6 years of age due to the risk of injury from falls.It is important not to screw hooks or handles onto the bed or hang ropes or belts in which children can get caught when playing.When the bed is used as a loft bed, it is recommended for 6 years and older.

Super sturdy and easy to assembleAlexandraTook ~2 hours to assemble. Amazing quality! Out of the box you can feel how sturdy the pieces are. All pieces were perfectly drilled/routed, and the wood was beautifully sanded. All hardware was included, and the directions were very easy to follow. This truly is an awesome value, and I'm so happy we went with this bed. Our kiddos love it!5
We Loved it but then…..MichelleIt was perfect until it was not. One of the wooded slats that the mattress sits on literally broke in half. I tried to speak with customer service to get a replacement slat, however, I was told I needed to take down the entire bed and return it to get a whole new bed. It Takes so long to put together this furniture. I only need the wooden slat. 1
Not recommended.FredyInstructions are not easy to read, parts are not cut to assemble. Dissapointed and would not recomend.1

Patience is required MaryI had a little trouble with the directions at times and made a few errors when putting the bed together. I do wish ikea marked them a little better on the four main important posts that have to face a certain way and type with a sticker or something more obvious because I definitely mixed up the posts and had to tear it apart half way through to redo it. I would recommend patience and definitely two people or pay someone to build it. I did put this together alone and flipped it up to use it as a loft bed due to it being shorter but it would have been easier with assistance. Other wise it’s pretty solid and the four year old loves it. Redid his entire room with an ocean theme IKEA has available for kids rooms and he’s enjoying his big boy room and bed.4
Terrible smell after more than a yearJulieI was initially very happy with my purchase. The bed wasn't too hard to assemble and it's sturdy. However, it's been more than a year and a half and there is still a really strong smell... I can smell it in my son's bedroom. I think it's coming from the slats. I'm now considering buying a new bed. It's the first time I'm having this type of problem with an Ikea furniture however... 1

BEST BED EVER!StaceyMy 2 year old who stopped wanting to sleep in her crib. We spent 3 weeks with her in our bed before I decided a big girl bed was needed. She LOVES THIS! We took her to ikea to pick out a big girl bed and she chose an ocean canopy to go along with her big girl bed . She loves the sea animals. She was afraid of her room for some reason and with her big girl bed and the canopy she now is back sleeping in her room happy as can be. Definitely worth the money and well made. Also very easy to assemble and sturdy. We absolutely love that IKEA has their beds out on display. This helped my daughter pick the bed that she felt comfortable on and a bed that she also found fun. She's adjusted well to her new bed and loves story time under her canopy. I would 100% recommend this bed for toddlers also it's very comfortable. I've spent a few nights on it ( when you're tired and you read and fall asleep with your toddler you will also be comfortable ! Lol )5

Top to bottomNecelGreat and sturdy. My daughter loves it. We ended up using a regular mattress not the foam type from IKEA as suggested so it’s thicker, but we installed a bed guard so it’s all good and she is 7 yo. She uses the bottom as play area and it’s all good until she grows out of it.5
